I sneak in, undetected,
for no one looks or cares.
I lock the door and sit and wait,
for that sound that announces my fate.
Then it comes.
That noise that puts my stomach in knots, quickens my heart rate, and gives me goosebumps.
Nervousness and paranoiakick in,
but still I sit.
In this small metal box,
I stay and wait.
For what feels like an eternity, I stay.
Reading, writing, studying, anything to pass the time, but still... I stay.
Each person that comes in, I am sure will discover, and then all this will have been in vain.
Still I stay and wait.
Finally, it arrives.
What I have been waiting for.
The same sound that had me
